After having my 4th child & preparing to head back to Google, I penned a Maternity Leave QBR featured by Fast Company, articulating the unpaid labor through the lens of business.

Why does this matter? One million women are missing from the paid workforce compared to pre-pandemic, many to take on childcare duties at home. Rather than consider these workloads “gaps” in our resume, how can we reframe these responsibilities through the skills & mindsets valued in business?

As women transition back into the paid workforce, & companies evaluate capabilities, let’s broaden our scope when taking stock in the work we do. When asked what skills we bring to the table, why limit our table to the conference room?
